MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato — The North Cotabato Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) will soon have its own building at the provincial capitol ground in Barangay Amas, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato.

The provincial government will put up the Provincial Fire Office/Fire Substation building aimed at making the unit very responsive to emergencies.

North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Lala Mendoza led the groundbreaking ceremony along with Fire Chief Insp. Romeo Tactaquin, North Cotabato provincial fire marshal, for the construction of the new structure at a government-owned lot with an area of more than 3,000 square meters.

Tactaquin is very grateful to Governor Mendoza and other provincial officials. He also expressed appreciation to the people who helped and will be helping the fire unit in implementing its programs in the future, assuring that they will deliver “Serbisyong Totoo” to Cotabatenios, especially in administering emergency and rescue operations.

Senior Supt. Alejandro Cagambang, BFP-12 regional director, also expressed gratitude to Mendoza and the provincial board for providing an area and a supplemental budget of P2 million for the fire unit’s building.

The site where the building will be erected is presently occupied by informal settlers.

Mendoza has ordered the relocation of the informal settlers to a site where there are basic facilities like water and electricity. (PNA) ZamboTimes
