KIDAPAWAN CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Soccsksargen Region has filed Wednesday drug trafficking charges and illegal possession of firearms against three persons they arrested two days ago in a buy-bust raid in Midsayap town, North Cotabato.

Charged were Rey Dizor Martinez, 45, and his brother Marcel, 38, and Royzel Gusto Navaja, all residents of Poblacion-8, Midsayap.

PDEA regional spokesperson Vincent Quindelirino said the suspects were apprehended inside the New Mars Machine Shop along Quezon Avenue in Barangay Poblacion-8.

Recovered from the suspects were few grams of shabu (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia, marked money, and two unlicensed firearms.

On Wednesday, PDEA operatives brought the suspects to the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor here for the filing of charges.

The suspects were brought later at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group for temporary custody.

Once the court issues commitment order the suspects would be brought to the Cotabato Provincial Jail at the Amas Complex, Davao City.

Quindelirino refused to divulge the group of a drug syndicate the suspects belong.

“As of now we could not divulge such information because we’re on the process of developing new information because of the safety of our operatives in the field,” he said.
