‘Big time pusher’ Arrested
ZamboTimes- MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato — Anti-Narcotics agents arrested over the weekend a former village chair of Maguindanao during a buy-bust operation here, police said.
Chief Supt. Bienvenido Latag, police regional director in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), identified the arrested suspect as Abdulla Macarimbang, 49 and former village chair of Barangay Pinantar, Parang, Maguindanao.
Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local police were tipped off about the activities of the village chair in North Cotabato towns, peddling methamphetamine hydrochloride.
After his activities were positively monitored by police and PDEA agents, a buy bust operation was set up.
On Saturday, a poseur made an arrangement with Macarimbang who goes by the alias “Chairman” for a pay off of P35,000 worth of “shabu.”
At about 2 p.m., Macarimbang arrived with two plastic packs containing shabu to a civilian agent of the PDEA.
After receiving the marked money, government agents arrested him.
But due to holidays, the suspect will be charged in court on November 2, according to PDEA.
Midsayap, a first class municipality and serving as the center of commerce and trade in North Cotabato’s first district has also become the center of trade of prohibited drugs from nearby municipalities and provinces. (PNA)
